AboutI am a Birmingham born artist/designer/illustrator living in Jersey Channel Islands since 1992. Originally specialising in textile design for print and fashion at Somerset College of Arts, graduating in 1989, I have exhibited at Jersey Museum, The Smiths Gallery - Covent Garden, and international textile design fairs in both London and Germany.
As a textile designer I am primarily interested in shape, pattern and texture, my current work is a reflection of these influences, and a continuation of the monochrome tree theme from my exhibition using pen, ink and wash on textured paper. I am inspired by both the compositions of Sir Claude Francis Barry’s paintings and etchings of iconic Jersey sites, including Mont Orgueil Castle, and by the framing patterns created by his highly stylised trees.
